91 300SE adjustable downshifts?
I'd like to know if there's anything I can adjust to change this behavior:
- from a stop, drops into first gear with less pedal than I feel should trigger first gear even if I don't put the shifter in second. - in fourth gear, usually won't drop into third unless I hit the kickdown switch or downshift manually. I lose all my momentum on long grades. - otherwise 2-3 is a shade harsher than I'd like. 3-4 isn't silk but much better. I've never touched the cable between the throttle linkage and the transmission (bowden cable?). I'm hessitant to do so because I don't want a general shift (no pun intended) in downshifting. Thanks, Sixto 91 300SE 81 300SD ... if it had a working tranny, I'd complain about it :) |
