91 300SE adjustable downshifts?
I'd like to know if there's anything I can adjust to change this behavior:
- from a stop, drops into first gear with less pedal than I feel should trigger first gear even if I don't put the shifter in second. - in fourth gear, usually won't drop into third unless I hit the kickdown switch or downshift manually. I lose all my momentum on long grades. - otherwise 2-3 is a shade harsher than I'd like. 3-4 isn't silk but much better. I've never touched the cable between the throttle linkage and the transmission (bowden cable?). I'm hessitant to do so because I don't want a general shift (no pun intended) in downshifting. Thanks, Sixto 91 300SE 81 300SD ... if it had a working tranny, I'd complain about it |

Sixto:
I'm sure you'll receive some good answers to your question from knowledgeable techies here. If you do not already have this and for future reference, consider: http://www.atsgmiami.com/cart/Category.Cfm?Cat=36 Automatic Transmission Service Group - Miami, Fla. For $20, you get a 120 page manual outlining the components of a 722.3/722.4. It may come in handy.
