55 AMG Gearbox question, tricky...

Hi there,

I have a project with an AMG 55 Kompressor engine. The engine is already with me but now I need to know if there is a manual trans at least a five speed that would fit?

I was thinking of the V6 diesel gearbox out of the 270cdi but I'm not sure about that and we don;t have them here in Dubai. I want to avoid ordering that thing and finding out it doesn't fit when it is here...

If you do find something keep us posted. Twice now I've got my hopes up to do a swap like this but the engine purchase fell through.

Took the part number to the EPC.

What's more interesting for most of us is the bellhousing, A2112611501 (or A2112611201 depending on transmission # cutoff), which would be the starting point for adapting a non-mercedes transmission to an E55 motor.

according to my info the bell-housing from the 350 out of the mentioned cars is fitting the 55amg/500 V8.

I have ordered it already... will post pictures before I put it in the car showing it on the engine. if you want I can post pictures of the flywheel side of the amg 55 in detail?
