85 500SEL electrical trouble
 
Alternator went South. Replaced it along with battery. ABS light is on and idle is at 1200 RPM. Replaced Voltage Protection relay thinking that was the problem...it wasn't. All fuses are good and now I am not sure where to look next. Please advise.

I has to be the overvoltage relay or something related. I would also check the fuse in that relay. If it is good, replace the whole relay.

I have seen the small wire at the positive battery cable come loose from time to time.
