Access to trunk on S320 W220
Hi anyone got any ideas how I can get into my trunk? The central locking pump has failed, 20A fuse blown but replaced doesn't solve the problem. I've tried conventional key access in the large trunk release "push" by the number plate but no luck. I understand early W220's had an issue with the spring in the trunk? Would drilling out the key barrel work? HELP!!

Hi Raymond, done all that thanks and no success!:o

I dont know if this works on a 220, if you can get to the hose that serves the locks, pressure to unlock and vacuum to lock. It works on the 140, someone just used a bike pump, you dont need a lot so be carefull. Its was under passenger rear seat.

Hi Peter, thanks for this. I located a pipe with a 4mm outlet to it under the rear seat. I attached a bicycle pump to it, tried pumping but meet resistance so I stopped?

I did a little search, the pump is not under the seat it appears it is in the trunk sorry!
You might try this site I used "locking pump and 220" http://www.benzworld.org/forums/ |
Peter, yes the central locking pump is in the trunk but there was a white 4mm tube under the back set with a T junction containing a facility to push on another pipe. There's where I connected the bicycle pump?

if you try all other options with no success, pick your least favorite taillight and smash away.
