HELP! Anyone with a 190E 2.6!!!!!!

One of my vacuum connections has come off and I can't find where it re-attaches. The location of the vacuum connection is at the far back intake runner. Closest to piston number 6 (back side of engine compartment). There are two vacuum connections on this runner, I need to know where the one closest to the head goes or what it connects to.

If anyone can take a look at their car and describe where this connects, I would greatly appreciate it.

I took a look at my engine bay and have been unable to find what you are describing. I am sorry. I looked at two hoses that are at the back of the cylinder. They seem to be running off the vaccuum pump in the rear under the back seat. I am not sure which vaccuum line you are talking about. Do you have the air cleaner off? Do the vaccuum line(s) go into the intake plenum??

I'll do what I can if you give me a little more information.

Good luck brother!

Do you have pictures of your 2.6?

I'll look at mine when I get home.

I've poked inside the bonnet, and while I don't have an intake in there anymore, or an engine for that matter, I have found three vacuum lines that are possibilities.

The first line goes to the ignition unit and I don't think it is the one because it should be too short to make it to the rear intake. I think I see it in your pic in the very left lower corner.

The second goes through the rear wall next to the fuse box. It connects to a Y where one leg has a check valve and the other leg goes through the firewall.

The third line goes back next to the tranny and connects to a fitting on the side of tranny on the drivers' side. There's a big red circular thing-a-ma-bob where it goes in.

Sorry - I'm not much on tranny speak and I don't have a transmission manual.

Found it. :)

I was looking through an old IMPCO catalog and found the trans part you described... that was the one I needed. My car now shifts smooth as glass.

The third line goes back next to the tranny and connects to a fitting on the side of tranny on the drivers' side. There's a big red circular thing-a-ma-bob where it goes in.

Thanks for your help!
