Reassembly question about cylinder head.
 

I've finally got my head back for my '91 300 CE, M104, from the machine shop after 6 weeks. I'm in the process of reassembly. Just taking my time to be sure I get it right. The question I have is do I need to put the spring loaded pin on the chain guide back as an assembly or do I need to disassemble the pin and install it that way.

u need to dissasemble it to reset it or u will have big problems

^ x2. Dissemble completely. Make sure you get the torque settings correct as well. It is very crucial.

I disassembled the chain torsion bolt and reassembled it in the motor. When I did the spring stuck out about 1/2 inch and I had to push it in with the cap. It took some doing, but I got it. Is it suppose to be that way?
