Dashboard light
This is not a meatloaf comment...my 76 240 D red dash board lights suddenly quit coming on after I twisted key to start. Plugs still glow and car starts fine, but lights don't go red to start. I only have a very faint glow on alt. light after started. Weird...thought maybe ignition switch or a fuse. Any ideas? It happened a couple months ago, but then went back to normal.

Let's take the easy route
Greetings Pat,
Let's start with the simple first. Remove your drivers side kick panel so you have access to the dash lights. Remove each one and check them to see if they are burned out or if the black holder is firmly twisted in place without any corrosion on either contact point. If after doing this the problem still exists, let me know. From what you have said, it sounds like a bulb or bulb holder connection that is giving you problems. Charles
