I hope some lawyer can help us file some class action law suites against MB.

This sensor should not be failing below 100k mi. If they do, it is should be covered by emission warranty.

Every single 103 car that I have seen has the front timing cover leaking or worked on and then leak again. It seems the 104 has the same problem. My 1997 E320 was worked on at 36 kmi. I am sure it will leak again ion the future. Another class action here.

How about the head gasket in 103 and 104 motors, wiring harness, ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,.

If only a few cars have a problem, MB can say no but if almost every car has the problem, then it is MB's fault.

Lawyer, help!!!

Bo

Mass Air Sensor - Lawyer????

I need to say that I'm a Canadian lawyer so the rules are different here.

If an American lawyer wants to contact me and discuss doing this together that might be worthwhile. However, I don't have any sense of how prevalent the failures are and whether MB knew of them, etc. etc.

If anyone has an idea of how often it happens and when (failure at 20,000 km. versus at 200,000 kms) and why (and how MB could have done something about it) I would be happy to consider trying something.

Dave

I vaguely remember MB lost one class action law suite in the late 90's to these 140 car owners. I think each owner got a coupe thousands dollars of credit toward purchasing another car or something like that.

I think the mass air sensor, head gasket, and time cover gasket on the 103 and 104 motors are good candidates for actions. Could anyone reasonable imagine that the above three are "wear" items at 50 kmi? Obviously MB do.

I have replaced probably 50 mass air meters and done 50-100 head gaskets. ONLY the ones under the 50k mile warranty are done under warranty at our dealers.

Silently, SOME dealers will replace the wire harness up to 120k miles.
