I wish you were right jonL, its still hot. Looks like it may have been intermittent, but it definitely wanting to overheat now. I think I'll try the 02 sensor. Anybody know easiest way to check for cat converter problem? Thanks

have you checked to make sure that the temp gauge is reading correctly?those cars were notorious for needing an extra ground from the main ground behind instrument cluster to instrument panel.

Do any of you have info regarding the use of citric acid to flush the crud out of a radiator & cooling system? If so, what amount of citric acid powder or crystals would you recommend for adding to the cooling system to perform a flush? I have a '93 MB 500 SEL that I wish to replace the cooling fluid, but also want to flush it out at same time.
