Approximate Cost, Wheel Bearing Replacement, 300TE
 

For a 1988 300TE. Anybody have a ballpark guess?

Front or rear? Front are cheap and pretty easy....rear, not so much....especially at a shop.

Rear left. Has the wiggles (when the car is up on a lift you can grab the wheel and wiggle it, not so on the other side). Don't think it's any of the links, think it must be the bearing.

Any descriptions of this repair anywhere for a 300te 4matic? I see one for 126, must be similar I hope?
Also on All parts express there are two options, the bearings - inner and outer, or a bearing kit which involves numerous bolts, a circlip and an axle nut. Any ideas - the kit is probably needed in case some of the bolts are damaged.

You should be absolutely certain the bearing is bad before you attempt to change it. If the bearing is not making noise, I suspect it is not bad.
Removing that rear bearing can be a difficult task.

Some TSB somewhere on this as procedure changed or something.

All to say you should only trust this to a mechanic with Mercedes experience.
