116 engine valve compressor tool
 

hi all,

i've been looking for valve spring compressor tool to change out the camshaft on my 420 SEL...all the ones i found so far were at least $150 and up....but i did found this one made by KD tools (part #3087) see attached pic....has anyone used this valve compressor on the 116 engine with success...it looks similar to the genuine mercedes one...thanks

Why don't you just rent the tool that is available in the tool rental program?

I've used that KD tool for something like 15 years. Works wonderfully. Those metal jaws will spread a bit over time. The tool won't last forever, but you'll get your 50 bucks worth for sure.
