Over voltage Relay blew the fuse

I need some help. I know what thte over voltage relay does and why it does it, no porblem. What I dont know is what to do if the OVR keeps blowing the fuse. I went and got my 1986 W201 2.3-16valve out of storage and found that some items were not working any more, mainly because fuse 12 and 13 were blown, I found that I could replace 13 but 12 kept blowing. I changed the fuse from a 8 to a 16 because I saw by using the amp meter the circuit was pulling about 10 amps. I added an alarm, a remote unlock and a stereo amplifier and they all pull off that fuse so i figured that made some sense to now be pulling more amps, plus I needed to start the diagnosis somewere with some power to items, it worked, the 16 amp fuse did not blow. So, now all the fuses in the box are good, I figured I was done, but NOPE. I started the car up again, turned right over, nice. Then I found that it has no power and things were still not acting right. I went straight to the OVR because I found that the antilock light was staying on and I remembered that it was a symptom of a bad OVR fuse. I did jump start the car twice so I figured a blown OVR fuse was probable and it was bad, no big deal that is what it is there for right. Then I found that it blew a second 10 amp fuse right away, not good. Then I figured lets try a 20 amp fuse just to get an idea, it blew right away to. I got the meter and found that the OVR is pulling 34 amps across the fuse terminals! Wow. Now I am stuck. Where do I go from here?
I cant very well put a 34 or 40 amp fuse in the OVR and call it good. I want the 10 amp fuse back in it and I want it to be right. Please any help is appreciated, I need to track down the problem. THe only thing that has been done is the added stereo amp, and it it is not even very big and the alarm with the remote unlock system. They were working fine when the car went in storage last fall. Now I am stuck with a mystery electricl gremlin and I dont know where to start checking.
Thanks, Chris

Seeing I just went through issues with the OVP on a 1994 C220 which had no spark, I'm wondering if the relay is bad. Just a guess.

final answer

I did some searching to day and found a spare OVP. I popped it in place of the one with the blown fuse issue and low and behold, no blown fuse. The relay must have been bad and shorted out or something. In anycase, it is fixed and i am happy
