I bought a tube of the MB stuff. The label on the bag says "Radiator Seal Kit" Part Number A 002 989 73 20 10. THe only indication of the manufacturer is "01/97 LDM Made in Italy".

I'm confused. The MB sealant is not the one that they recommend? What's the difference between the Loctite 5900 and the black MB sealant. Or are they the one and same?

Are there parts stores that carry the green stuff made by Wurth?

Well... hit me with a stick and call me stupid!:p

I didn't think the question was unecessary. Thanks jsmith, I think that answers my question. It looks like Loctite 5900 and the black MB stuff is the same. If I knew that Loctite was an Italian company that may have given me a hint.

Now.. Where can I get the green stuff from Wurth? (or do I need it at all?)

Interesting instructions for that loctite 5900. It says to let it cure for seven days before subjecting to heavy service loads: http://65.213.72.112/tds5/docs/5900-EN.pdf

That wouldn't be very handy.
