Leaking cold start valve, Fixable???

I highly suspect that the cold start valve on my '88 TE is leaking as the car is hard to start cold, stalls until it is warm, and I can smell gasoline while trying to start it. I'm going to work on the problem this weekend, but would appreciate advice as to whether the valve is at all fixable or is it a throwaway item. My Scottish heritage hates to enrich Bosch for that amount of $ if I can fix it. Thanks folks!

Ron,

I don't think you can repair it as it is essentially a D-Jetronic injector. Well maybe YOU can, but it's not a basic DIY job :)

If you say the car stalls until warm, I don't think it's the cold start valve. The cold start only adds fuel for a moment, from what I've read. I'd check the temp sensors as well.
