Was the '86 190-16V avail with an automatic?
 
I saw one today but the slushbox kind of threw me.

Yes you could get it with an automatic. Bit of crying shame IMO.

As stated, it was sold with the automatic transmission. It's the same automatic that was used in the other W201, using the same ratios and internals.

The 2.5-16, not sold in North America, got a revised version of the automatic transmission that was specific to the twincam engine.
