Monovalve fix also makes A/C Colder (I think)
Just a note -
I have noticed that since I fixed my monovalve last winter in my W126, not only does the heat work better, but the A/C appears to blow colder now as well. I guess this may be because it was always leaking a small amount of coolant through to the heater core. Not enough to heat the car when cold, but enough to make the A/C less effective. It could be my imagination, but I could swear that my A/C is significantly colder now..... -tp |
Yes, I found this out when I swapped an entire monovalve assembly from my 300SD to 300SDL and, in fixing the heat problem, also got the A/C working. Now THAT was a real bonus!

mines look so innocent, but somehow did blocked the hot water passing thru. I unclip the C clip pull the rubber valve out, the hot water was abundance. Never had so much heat before.
It got to be a modern day Fuhrer's revenge. |
