Duel inside Cabin Filters, how to remove?
trying to replace the two inside cabin air filters (not the one under the hood) and need some info from someone thats done the job.
Is all I do is remove the upper kick panel (2 T-20 screws) and then remove the four screws (looks like T-20's) and then drop that section down to R&R the old filters? I will need to buy a T handle set or single T 20 if one can be found. Sure is nice for us folks that have severe allergies to have all these filters, but the two inside sure seems to be a PIA to replace and not to mention I paid $98 for the two filters. Wish I had known what a PIA the inside one is, I might have had dealer replace at last service. Not really guys, just PO'ed about have to buy a set of tools that I will only use once or twice a year. Understand I have the a nice set of socket torx, including security type, just don't have the long thin T wrench's. |
What's the target in your avatar?
Are you talking about your W211? If so, look here: http://forums.mbworld.org/forums/mercedes-tech-talk/121085-w211-cabin-air-filter-change.html |
The link you posted was of no help. Their link to Bosch seems to be BMW and maybe couple other cars, but not my 211 E320CDI that I saw.
Hope some one sees this that has all three filters like my car. |

ALso is there a drain out the lower pannels for the AC or does it just dump on the pannel? I have never seen water under my car and thought it just dumps on a pannel, but still wonder. Last road trip I was cruising at 80 mph and nocking down 35.7 MPG and friend with me was sure imprssed that I could get better MPG at 80 mph then he can at 70 mph, however he did remind me I was paying 20 cents more for fuel. I had to give him a shot math lesson and really lowered his opinion of his new Honda Civic. |
