1995 E320 wagon ride height
 

Does anyone know what the acceptable ride height should be on a 1994 or 1995 station wagon? I have looked in the factory manuals, and the MB pocket data booklet for mechanics which lists torque specifications and every other specification but not ride height. I'm trying to determine what is acceptable when measured (on asphalt) from the ground, through the center of the rim to the lip of the rear wheel well fender.

does it sit low? On ML's you can adjust it with shims

Yes it's slightly low. This is for a wagon which has the hydraulic suspension. Shims wouldn't be used. There's got to be some information out there in print somewhere.

I looked through my repair manual and there is only a procedure using a Benz tool.
I can measure my '95 wagon, which sits proper IMO, if that will help. My wagon did sit a bit low in the rear when I bought it; replacing the accumulators fixed it.

Yes, please if you could measure it, that would help. If you could do it (unladen) through the center of the rim up to the bottom of the metal frame/fender flare. Each side too please. That's bizarre there's nothing written about it anywhere. I think I need accumulators too.

Just now measured my wagon.
the center of the wheel is 11-3/4" above the ground, the following are measurements from the center of the wheel to the lip of the fender-
LF 15-1/2"
LR 15-1/4"
RF 15-5/8"
RR 15-1/4"
Measured with car unladen, tire size 195-65-15
