Power Window Problem, '94 E320 Sedan
1994 E320 Sedan, with 158K.
I've had a problem with the drivers power window for some time. At first, the wind started whistling at the top, and I thought I needed a new seal. Then, it began sounding like a cogged belt was slipping on a nylon gear down in the regulator system, and the wind noise got louder. Now, the window won't close without leaving a tiny gap at the top, and the 'cogged belt slipping' sound', is weakening to more of a muted rattle. I havn't seen a diagram of the regulator and motor, but the sound is so distinctive, I thought someone out there might have an idea of what it likely is. For now, I've applied a nav system suction cup to the window, and am able to lift it tight now and again while running the motor up. Any help would be much appreciated. Mark |

They all wear the last row of gear teeth out b/c guys hold the lift button too long after the window is up.
