air pump m104
I recently found the wiring for the air injection pump was cut into by the serpentine belt, repaired wiring and the pump tried to engage, well the clutch engaged anyway- my question is ...should the pumpe be able to be turned when the car is off? seems like the pump might be frozen ? If so is the pump rebuildable? Thank you for any help!!! If not where is the best place to purchase a new one?

mines I hear her run for short while when first warm up.
I was told it suppose to be great aid if u need emission test. since it will inject more fresh air into exhaust to aid the unburnt gas, os lower emission. if u have no emission test in your state, i wouldnt bother. have seen them in 560 too. mines is 90 300 se.

A new smog pump would be prohibitive in price. A rebuilt would work just fine. That is what I did, plus a few new hoses and check valve. Several members have had success in doing the rebuild themselves if the problem is just the main bearing. It is an odd ball sized bearing but there is an inexpensive Chinese one readily available. Try searching the archives.
