No cruise control 95 E320

I've searched for this problem to no avail. This car is too new for GDL (General Development laboratories) to step in and do any necessary rebuilds to the cruise control module (015 545 43 32).

A search reveals the problem is usually with the brake switch above the brake pedal or the ETA (electronic throttle actuator). The brake switch was replaced a couple years ago. It's function was verified last week. The ETA was rewired a few years ago as well. The cruise control problem did not coincide with either of these repairs. The problem only showed up last year. It's not intermittent either - just dead. The fuse is good. Does anyone have any ideas?

Search "codes" here, and query the codes on the car.

Sure sounds like an ETA problem. Codes will tell you a lot more. Even though stop lamp switch has been replaced, it could have failed again. Easy to check and fix--be sure to rule this out first.

ETA's fail in three ways, bad wire, bad motor, bad feedback pot. Bad wire failure is the only one solved by a rewire. Bad motor is not fixable, bad pot is fixable, but only by Beckmann Technologies.......

From what you describe, you may have a bad motor....

Just reread, I see you have ruled out stop switch. Next step is to retrieve codes.

The car is not registered and is now apart for many issues, so I can't drive it. But when I do drive it, I check for codes twice a month. I used to get a Code 5 at Pin 14, which is the stop lamp switch problem. Once I replaced the brake switch (July 08) the code went away.

The only other codes I got regularly before winter storage are Codes 4 and 26 from the built-in module, which are the mass air flow sensor and the upshift delay valve, respectively. Pin 8 and Pin 14 have shown no codes.
