W211 SDS Braking System Question

Just curious which year models and specific cars have this type of brake system? Is it all the W211? What year did this start and end for this type brake system where you can't even do your own brake job?

I apoligize I meant the SDC braking system.........

I think you mean SBC......I know it was used in 05 & 06 and that 06 was the last model year. Not sure if it was used on models prior to 05.

It was used from start of production of the W211 in 2003 until the facelift in 2007.

Thats interesting Daddi cause I know SBC is not used on 07 W211 diesels which is my main focus.

Just disconnect the big electrical connector from the pump and then procede as normal to change pads/rotors. You can't bleed the system yourself, however.

I just want to make sure I am 100% positive on this, you are referring to the large back connection that is on the SBC unit that is in the front passenerger side of the engine compartment. All you have to do is unplug that and proceed as normal with brake changes?

It depends on the codes if it has code 213 (speed sensitive pover steering) or 219 (proximity controlled cruise control) they use the SBC unit otherwise not.
