ignition coil
 

I have a good ignition coil out of a 1988 300CE coupe. It looks identical to the one in my 1991 300CE coupe but the part number is not the same...are they interchangeable?

Antonino, according to the benzautoparts.com website the ignition coils are different for the 1988 and 1991 300CE's. Which makes sense since the 1988 has a M103 engine and the 1991 has a M104 engine. You may want to call your local MB dealer and confirm that the coils are not interchangeable.

they reason I say that is because I know that....it they look the same and the hookups are the same and they, again, look and feel, the same then you absolutely do that. Bosche stuff...believe me you can do that if you are careful..... I ran the wifes 1988 325iC for 6 months off the coil from my 1985 635CSi that was in storage, that was the longest coil wire ever made....
