Lighter and Outside Air Temp doesn't work

On my 1990 300 SEL, I had a guy look at my dash instrumental panel lights.

When I got the car back, my digital outside temperature gauge was out and also my cigarette lighter doesn't work. Any ideas what it could be?

I took a quick look at the fuses and they look good. I will look again , but I think he touched something.

Pull the cluster and see if he pluged everything back in.

Thank you - do I have to remove the instrument panel to see the "cluster"?

Instrument ("Cluster") Panel

It's one and the same (Kinda a Nickname)

I pulled the instrument panel and plugged in the outside temp gauge, but the main lighter still does not work. Any ideas?

Fuse? or was he doing some work on the center console and maybe didn't plug back in.

matchek1 04-13-2009 12:17 PM

It's not the fuse.

But he may have not plugged it back in because earlier, he did do something with the heater control as he replaced something that heater valve, controller. Not sure exactly. I forgot. I was so upset at their sloppy work.

Where is this lighter plug? Just simply pull out the ash tray?'

Thanks!

Pull the tray out and there are two Phillips screws that allow you to pull the tray holder out.

thanks - problem solved!
