question on keys
i have a euro 500 SEC car only has 1 key. How would I get a copy?It is the original key that locks and unlocks everything.any input would be appreciated .....having no copies worries me a little
Thanks James |
Take the VIN number to your local MB dealer and order one or as many as you want. Tell them you want a key that will work in every location.

hello jim. Thanks for the reply.Just was not sure about that .Because it is a grey market car

I don't see where the gray mkt status should make any difference. One other thing I just remembered though - I am pretty sure you have to have proof of ownership unless you have been dealing with the MB parts counter person and they know you own the car.

Locksmith?
I've ordered keys from the dealer through the VIN code - no problem.
I've also got my local locksmith to cut them from blanks - no problem either. When I had the ignition lock replaced on my '87 190E, I only got one key from MB. 80 pounds ($120) and only one key! |
