W124 Sportline: LSD?

Hey Guys,

Does anyone have any idea if the W124 E320 Sportline got an LSD standard? Or was it only an option?

(I'm talking non-ASR cars.)

Thanks.

LSD- not standard, and not an option on any E320 (standard or sportline) in the US.

FYI, LSD has nothing to do with ASR.

However, ASD optioned diesel vehicles do have an LSD.

Search "LSD" and you will find recent threads about swapping or modding diffs for limited slip. Not easy or cheap. Search for member GSXR who has a thread on rebuilding a LSD diff on a 124 300Diesel.

Why MB did not offer LSD on more vehicles is a mystery to me, and a huge mistake imho.

Thanks ds190.

I know ASR & LSD are different animals. And I've been all over gsxr's LSD thread, as I've been considering the conversion on my 300E for years.

I guess I can drop the question if no USA E320 got the LSD. I know there are some 300CE's out there with them, but I had no idea about Sportline's.

You'd think they'd've put an LSD in a Sportline, or at least offered it as an option...
