Warped Rotors?
 

I have a vibration in the brake pedal when braking, which is only worse when braking hard. I know the rotors (front) were turned to the min amt last brake job. So I do need new ones; the more worn they are... does this mean they are more susceptible to warpage? (I know that didn't make sense, I'm tired.)
I also had my lower control arm bushings replaced recently.. but still hear popping (might be related to something else also, concurrently, IE, could be 2 things). I have a worsening vibration in the steering wheel also, which is also worse when braking hard. I just had new tires put on 3,000 miles ago, which were balanced. Also had a 4 wheel alignment a few thousand miles ago when I got the bushings replaced.
Wondering if most of this might be some how related?

Taking the car in to have them recheck bushings and alignment, and to check for a possible loose drivetrain mount (mount, flex disc, etc.). Will be nice cruising in the CLK Cabrio... TOP DOWN!

You're on target with the rotors. They do warp more easilly when they have been skimmed. Basically, the thinner metal has less strength.

Exactly as I presumed. Thanks Neil. Too bad I recently got new brakes! I will have to live with it for awhile...

I will have the tires rotated too, should clear up the vibration in the steering wheel.

I wouldn`t wait too long!!! This is a safety issue,not only bothersome when breaking,but the rotors could crack.
With the rotors at there minimum,and the extra vibration because there warped your asking for trouble.

It is not a good idea to turn these rotors. They are relatively inexpensive and typically very long lasting. When the time comes again, replace them rather than turn them. You don't have to replace them every time you replace the pads, only when they get warped or too thin.

Thinner "turned" rotors will be more prone to warpage due to heat, which even in normal driving, is a lot of heat! If you are an aggressive driver, those rotors probably are glowing red hot on occasion.

When your engine overheats, you run the risk of warping your head(s), and they are thicker than your rotors. Yet even at overheating temps, the head(s) don't take as much punishment as the rotors absorb when hard braking from high speeds.

Get them replaced NOW!!! Your car is too new to require replacement of the other components you described as suspect.

DAVID,Try PORTERFIELD in Costa Mesa give them a call the brake pads he has are great.... and he also treats the brake rotors a la frozen treatment that WILL make them last at least three times longer :D and the brake performance is vastly improved:D NO FADE/SQUEAK/DUST. I have used his pads on most all of my cars with great results because the crossdrilled rotors were cracking on my porsche turbo and after i installed the treated rotors the rotors no longer cracked ... and I drive VERY HARD!!!! good luck
