Help Needed Replacing the Passenger Side Mirror on a 1999 E320 4Matic Wagon
I managed to rip off the passenger side mirror on my 99 e320 4matic wagon. I have the housing, but need to replace the innards. Looks like t simple screws to take off the old and insert the new. The internet has a ton of options, though. Do I have to use the most expensive ULO version or can I go with the cheaper Kool-Vue? Will my old housing fit the cheaper Kool-Vue??? Thanks!!!

trying to help but dont know what a ULO or Kool-Vue verbiage means.

Thanks Raymond! They're manufacturer names...I think. They are the 2 different brands that came up when I googled for a new mirror. Any help would be appreciated

oh, okay, i get it. i've only had hands on with the OEM parts so unsure how
best to advise. removing the whole assembly from the door is two part: 1) remove plastic mirror cover, 2) reaching through mirror guts with long shank, remove two screws - top one, then the one nearest the back of car, 3) fold mirror unit against spring tension and carefully remove last screw nearest front of car. i would like to think that aftermarket parts would be compliant with OEM mirror cover, but that's just a guess. www.tinyurl.com/dmp6ph http://tinyurl.com/5vrvv4 |
Thanks! This is a great help. Now I just need to figure out my cheapest option!
http://www.usautoparts.net/catalog/?D=kool+vue+mirror+mz13er&Ntt=kool+vue+mirror+mz13er&Dx=mode+matchallpartial&Ntk=Main&Ntx=mode+match allpartial&N=11207&Nty=1 This seems to be it, but I'm not sure it'll fit a 1999 4 matic. Not too concerned about all of the functionality, just want the mirror to work. |
