W140 drivers side mirror replacement
 

OK, somebody broke off my mirror and servo motor. I bought the new servo and mirror from allparts(thanks phil). I haven't removed the housing or anything like that. I can attach the new servo in, but how do you then attach the glass? I can't figure it out. I could see attaching the glass with the housing off, buy I can't figure out how to do that. How to you either

1. Attach the glass to the servo with the housing on.

or

2. Remove the housing?

You can pull the housing off pretty easily. Fold the mirrors in and then look at the mounting base. You will see three philips screws holding it in. Unscrew those, disconnect the two wiring harness connectors, and you're good to go.
