Fan Clutch 190E do I need to remove belt?

 I am replacing the fan clutch on my 190E 2.3. I've removed the fan and shroud and the nuts (6 star type) but where do I go from here? Do I need to remove the belt?

The fan clutch magnet is behind the fan pulley. Yup, going to have to get the pulley off there, and the best way is to remove the belt. Maybe you could try pulling the belt off the pulley, I've never tried it this way, but it may work. There is a 19mm bolt on the front of the belt tightener, I'd at least loosen that bolt up before trying it. After getting the pulley off it's pretty easy, just 3 bolts holding the magnet to the fan bearing housing.
