2003 clk cabriolet outside temp

My outside temperature display on the dash only shows a minus sign on the left side how can i tell if its the sensor or the dash?

Welcome,
By replacing the sensor for a few $$$, or the cluster at the dealer for a bunch of $$$$

Of course you can OHM out the sensor.
There are several threads here that list resistance values
