asssyt reset (FSS)

Hi!

My A Class is equipped with FSS (ASSYST), I have reset my FSS manually once, can I reset it again manually when its due for servicing???, without any ill effects to my car???

I heard from somewhere that it is not possible to reset the FSS manually "twice or more", as it could cause damage to the car's ECU. They say that it should be reset using the MB HandHeld Tester. Any ideas? Thanks!

Can’t speak categorically but it is a good idea to NOT reset the FSS. That is the mechanism the dealer uses for scheduling services. If you let them do it, you are assured that the minimum maintenance will be done.

That said, the FSS is essentially a counter, so there is no harm in resetting it, other than as mentioned above

BTW, how do you like you A class???? We don’t hear much about them….

Regards
