the fan speed switch is stuck, it has about a half inch range of motion between the I and II marks.
what could be causing this, it happened all of a sudden, got in the car one day and it wouldn't move. so ya, i wan't to know what is wrong and how to fix, its getting hot here in the bay area and i need a/c on high |
AC blower fan switch
Your switch has failed. A metal rocker or detant has broken inside. It is not repairable.
I collect and sell used parts for several models Mercedes to help bolster my meager retirement. More than not, 190s demand attention with the fan's speed switches and blower motors. The latter tends to seize up around 140K miles. You will need to replace the switch. If you are somewhat of a DO IT yourself type you can save alot of money fixing this. I have this switch running now on Ebay if you would like to check it out. Item #370189427571. If you buy it, I will step you through the process on installing. Takes about 1 1/2 hours for a first timer. Thanks. Dan(cdplayer) |
