California Federal
 

A friend of mine is thinking about buying a 2005 CLK 320. It is located in California and he lives in North Carolina. The question is, is there a difference in California and Federal emissions equipment on this car? We have found that sometimes it takes a while to get parts for California cars.

Not really...the differences are mostly about what parts have emission warranty & how long of emission warranty there is on the parts.

Well There are California parts and there are 49 State parts when it comes to the Emissions controls, at least on the older MB's maybe now Cali and Fed are the same....I doubt it though.

Cal and Fed Mandates were pre-0BD2 formats.
