Mercedes 190E 2.3-16, weight question.

so my car is in the shop waiting for tires. they change ordered the tires i wanted because they wouldn't hold the cars weight.

the tire are rated to hold 1071 pounds each. and multiply by four, that well over the GVW. but it could be the other weight thats on the placard, the GVWR or something.

if anyone could check this for me, it would be great.

That car surely cannot weigh more than 3300 or so.

I agree, its tiny! :D Even a W126 with two people in it only comes in around 4200ish....

Sounds more like an out of stock excuse.

I agree, I'd find a different tire outlet.

1071 apiece does sound a bit on the low end/cheapo tire side. My Michelin's are rated at like 1237 apiece or something like that...it might even be higher. And the 15" on my W124 are rated over 1300 apiece, and they were not even that expensive.

well the tires were continental extreme contacts. not a cheap tire.

and thats what i was thinking, its not that heavy, and those were also my previous tires
