heater hose at head leak
I have a leak which I am pretty confident is at the drivers side lower corner of the head where the lone heater hose attaches. What I'd like to know is if anyone has any tips on how to get to that as the firewall and the intake makes it really tight. I am assuming that I need to take the intake stuff off so that is no problem but I am just wondering if anyone has done this, fixed a leak at that joint where the metal piece attaches to the head, without doing something drastic like lifting the engine.
The reason there is a leak there is because I removed the head and was not smart enough to make absolutely sure that this juncture was pressure proof and exactly as it should be. I do have a seal to replace the old one. Any advice or previous experiences would be most appreciated. This is a 1995 E320 wagon. Thanks very much, Jim Lee |
the hose clamp might be loose or the oring the pipe seals with could be the problem. either way, it can be done as is. remove the oil filter cap and be careful. good luck, chuck.
