E320 oil change basics Q

I'm going to start doing my own oil changes on my 2000 E320 now that's it out of 8 years of warranty. Done some searches but can't find DIY stuff for this. Haven't been on this forum in ages. Spent lots of quality time here when I had my 87 turbo diesel. Also, how do I reset the oil monitor after I change oil? Any pointers appreciated.

The oil change is pretty basic which is why there are no instructions.....if its not intutive you maybe shouldn't be doing it.

You'll want a MB 229.5 spec syn oil and a German filter such as Knecht or Mahle. Both available here. M1 0W/40 Euro Blend is popular for your year. I believe that oil was the factory fill.

You can drain from the oil pan or suck through the dip stick tube. Both are acceptable. You'll need to remove the middle belly pan to drain from the bottom.

You OM has the reset instructions. Look under FSS. Close the front door before attempting to reset, or it wont work.
