W124 Radiator Replacement
Hello, everyone out there.
I have a 95 E320 Wagon and leaky radiator. It appears that there is a hairline crack right along the side of the radiator, in drivers side. I've been searching the radiator in eBay as well as different Mercedes parts store. Some of them says 1 row, or 2 rows. Does it matter in purchasing the radiator, 1 row or 2 rows? Main thing I believe is that there should be a metal insert at the neck of the radiator. Am I correct? I'd appreciate it if someone let me know if I should get 1 row or 2 rows and any other comments/advice in buying a radiator. Thank you, |

Do a search on "W124 radiators" and you will get a wealth of information!
The inlet neck on the OEM radiator is prone to cracking, the most common failure for these models. And yes, the upgraded versions contain a metal reinforcement sleeve. I don't know about the 1 or 2-row configuration, but your replacement should be a Nissen or Behr product. I replaced mine 100K miles ago with a Behr unit, and no issues since. You can probably do just as well buying the radiator here (click on Buy Parts at the top of the page), and you would be sure of getting friendly service, fast shipping and a quality replacement!

Can you give us a link to one of these 1 or 2 row choices? That's quite curious.

W124 Radiator Replacement
Hello, Deanyel,
What I did was I called Kragen/Checker Auto parts. This guy asked me if I have 1 row or 2 rows radiator. He then added he has 1 row radiator and he will have to order one if I want 2-row radiator. Even on eBay, one shop says 1-row and the other says 2-row. |
