Seat belt won't pull out on 2003 S430

I am having a problem with my driver's side seat belt. About 1 in 5 times I get in the car and the seat belt sticks will not roll out. The other times everything is fine and the seat belt rolls out perfectly. Any information about this problem will be much appreciated.

It won't come out at all, even if pulled slowly/gently? If you pull too quick the mechanism locks.....it drives my wife crazy.

It will pull out

It pulls out 4 out of 5 times with no problem whatsoever. But around the 5th time it will not move.

I'd love to help, but there aren't any "known issues" with the S-Class seat belts. No recalls, no technical bulletins, not even any dirty little factory secrets that MB doesn't want anyone to know about! While not very common, it's entirely possible that you've simply got a bad seat belt retractor. Call your local dealer and ask for a price. Just make sure you're sitting down.
