What went wrong with my 89 560SEL. HELP!!!!
 

All of a sudden my wipers, rear defrost, and windows stopped working. What blew? All my fuses are fine.

I dont know... perhaps a relay went out? I am not sure, but dont the power windows also run off of a relay?

Try to remove and carefully test, inspect or replace related fuses. Also check that the fuse holder is clean and corrosion free.

Above X2. Old German fuses can look fine when in fact they have oxidized ends and poor conductivity.

I do think it odd that ALL your windows quit along with the wipers, etc.. The windows alone are on two separate circuits, two separate fuses.

It sounds like a wiring/ground issue, to be honest.

OR - ignition switch?? Those are ALL items that you have to have the ignition "ON" in order for them to work.

Folks - is there a relay that links these functions to the ignition switch? Because that would be a logical candidate.....
