02, C320Break Pad Warning Reset

I replaced the pads, but my code reader can't reset the warning.

I've searched but can't find how to do it

And how do you reset the service mesage after an oil change.

Thanks

Either one of two things.

1) replace the brake pads sensors along with the pads you just replaced

or

2) the other axle of pads has cut the sensor and needs to be replaced too.

There's no need to re-set anything following brake pad replacement. Once the worn-through sensor is replaced (along with the brake pads), the warning message will disappear. Have you inspected all of the wear sensors carefully?

Thanks, I found how to reset the service a/b warning in the owners manual. I suspected the sensors. There are only two, both on the pasenger front and rear. I will check them again.

So do these sensors need to make contact through the pads? There are two wires, do the wires make a circuit through the pads normally? and when the pads weardown the rotors put ground on one of the wires?

No when the pads wear down they cut the circuit and when the module sees an open circuit on one of the sensors, it trips the light.
