fuel pump fiasco

So I tried to change the washers out on my
Fuel pumps on my 86 420sel because they
Were not the right ones and they leaked
Periodically. What a freakin nightmare this
Has been let me tell you. I have tried over
And over and can't get a good seal for more
Than 24hrs. I've spent a fortune just in washers
Alone from the dealer. I think my problem is
The threads on the pump itself. Can I get a junk
Yard pump or just replace one pump? I don't
Want to risk ruining both if they are not putting
Out the same flow or something like that and
Since I have spent a small fortune lateley I am trying
To build my savings back up. This small problem
Is zapping my patience very quickly. Has anyone
Ever had this problem?
