1996 SL600 1605 Code, How to Test

OK

I lost 6 cylinders today for a short time. It's back now running fine but a 1605 code is still present and will not clear. In fact I have had this code since last year as well but never a problem until today.

The readout is presented below.

1605 Accelerator Sensor

Check the Accelerator sensor signal
Passive sensor signal : (IGNITION = ON) : 2.35-2.65 V
Active sensor signal : (IGNITION = ON) : > 5mV AC

Also check the wiring and connections,
and the sensor power supply : 4.7 - 5.3 V

Can anyone tell me how to test this. It sounds like a problem with the Accelerator sensor (relatively cheep) and not the throttle actuator (expensive)
