M103 Cylinder Head Question "reposted"

Does anyone know what is supposed to go in the space on the cylinder head indicated by the red circle and arrow? Btw it is the front of the head.

I looked through my head rebuild pictures, but couldn't find a pic of it. It should be a relatively large O-ring. Somebody correct me if I am wrong. I can't remember.

At the end in the rivet?

Yea it's that space a little past the front of the the head. I looked all over but couldn't even find the name of the part. If someone has a picture or info on where to get that part I will be grateful if you post it.

It's a semicircular metal ring. You removed it when you took the cam out. The head is really clean too.

A small thrust bearing goes there.

* You need part number 103 051 00 73. It's not a bearing. It's just a "half-moon" shaped metal strip that controls the camshaft end-float.

I've searched all over the internet, but couldn't find one for sale. I'd hate to buy and disassemble another cylinder head just for that one little part. Does anyone have one that i could buy?

Have you tried Phil at Peach Parts, the forum sponsor? Robert Squires gave you the part number to order. If Phil can't supply it, your dealer can, for about 5 bucks.

I took the head apart a while ago, so I guess it just got lost. I need it now though, because I'm putting the cylinder head back together.
