vacuum hose routing to transmission
I am in the process of replacing all of the easy stuff (belts, hoses, plugs, rotor, lights, distributor cap, wires) on my new benz (1982 280e). Right now, I am working on vacuum hoses. It is fairly easy to replace the ones that are there, but some seem to be missing. For example, I know there is supposed to be a hose going to the transmission, but I can’t find one to replace. I see there is what looks like a vacuum hose fitting on the front end of the transmission, but nothing is there. Is this the right starting place? Also, where is it supposed to end up?

THE VACUUM LINE SHOULD START AT THE INTAKE MANIFOLD ON #6 RUNNER AND GO TO THE VAC. MODULATOR ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE TRANS.
REPLACE THE HOSE ON THE ENDS OF THE LINE AS WELL! M.F. |

Let me show my ignorance. What is the number 6 runner and where is it?

The number six cylinder is the one closest to the firewall/furthest from the radiator. The number six runner is the intake manifold pipe that feeds the number six cylinder.
