Turn signal and wiper stalk balking
I am just about to go out and see how hard it is to get to my turn signal/wiper lever on the left side of the 1995 e320 to see if I can see why it is acting up. Sometimes the turn signals will work and sometimes they will not. If I beep the horn it will make the turn signals work, sometimes. Same deal with the wipers. First thing I thought of was the fuse but it appears that they are on seperate fuses. I don't know what else it could be but a flaky connection in the switch somewhere.
Any advice on going in there to clean it or replace it? Thanks very much, Jim Lee |

Most likely its the combination relay, located just behind the fuse panel in the engine compartment (driver's side). It's called a combo relay because it servers as a relay for a number of functions, including turn signals, hazard flashers, and intermittent wiper operation.
I replaced mine about 4 years ago for around $100.

Wow, that's cheap. The W140 version of that relay is $430.
