Exclamation "86 190E 8-valve fuel injection problems HELLPME

Recently purchased this one dead. so I hate to spend and spend.
Been setting four or five years Cleaned fuel tank, lines, replaced filter and pump removed injection lines & blew out. sprayed fuel into intake fired up and ran while spraying fuel then, it would run on three cylinders on its own. When I spray fuel into the intake it will run on all 4. so I ASSumed Injectors and replaced all four.
still missing on No. 1 . I swapped injectors in no. 1 and two still misses on no. 1 cylinder. ran compression 130 to 135 on every cylinder. swapped plugs in no. 1 and 2 also still misses. still again spray fuel at throttle body and will run on all four. Please please please help Me. J.Miller

Possibly a vacuum leak??
Also you can try connecting the metal fuel lines to a different spots on the fuel distributor & see if the problem moves to another cylinder.

fuel problem

checked for vacuum leaks by spraying carb cleaner around manifold areas with no avail. tried to bend lines to different cylinders afraid that may strip threads in fuel distributor. could it be the distributor??? how does it work?? any way to check it??

TRY THIS; WITH ENGINE RUNNING BREAK LOOSE AN INJECTOR LINE ON A CYLINDER THAT YOU KNOW IS RUNNING OK,OBSERVE THE AMOUNT OF FUEL THAT SEEPS OUT AROUND FITTING,CLOSE THAT ONE AND DO THE SAME ON THE BAD CYL.
IF YOU GET LESS OR NO FUEL FROM THE LINE ON THE DEAD HOLE THE PROBLEM IS ON THE FUEL DIST.
KEEP A FIRE EXTINGUISHER NEAR-BY JUST IN CASE OF FIRE

Pull two injectors from the motor but still attached to the distributor. By-pass the fuel pump and press down on the airvalve. Compare the flow. Place it into a graduated cylinders for greater detail. Remember that if you do this for any length of time that all injectors will be pouring. Take them all out and catch all the fuel if you want to compare.

We use a device called a differential flow meter to make these measurments

Replaced Fuel Distributor

Fuel distributor came off of an 85-190 to my 86 190 and miss is gone!!
Performance is poor but on all 4 cylinders. Had a fuse blown on the OVP relay runs even better now!!! still less than expected so went through electrical (ignition check list) all seems Ok till I get to distributor. Green wire shows .4 Ohms resistance between connections and none between distributor terminals. My book says Replace distributor. Is it possible for the distributor to read this way and still run??

Idles roughly have not Replaced OVP relay Think it is necessary??
How do you check it???

J. Miller,

You can check the OVP relay which is located behind the battery, by taking it out and looking at the built-in fuse.

So you said that you replaced the fuel distributor and still the problem persist? Check ur vacuum lines, and the throttle linkage springs. You should have two springs.

I am experiencing almost the same problems as you are, where I am idling kind of rough.

Question

running Ok at Idle, If I push all the way down on accelerator it hesitates and sputters will just barely get 3800 RPM. If I gradually push down it will go into redline. At wits end had a shop run the Analyser on it they say readings are Ok E.G.A. ,
Scope says that ignition is almost perfect. slightly high on O2 but may be due to a cracked exhaust manifold. and a few small holes in muffler. Did not check the Fuel pump as it it new. ANY ONE Help!!!!

Sounds like fuel starvation. My 190E did this with a bad fuel pump, but could be your new filter is blocked with **** from the tank.

Help again PLEASE????

fuel pressure is 79 lbs, new filter runs fine while cold. when it warms up you push the pedal to the floor it cuts out and still will not get 3800 RPM's had shop to scope it, check fuel pressure(new Pump) check timing and dwell set lambda at 8MV new plugs, new wires, new cap(part of routine tune up) checked temp sensor, replaced Lambda sensor(BAD) changed out OVP relay with a good one, used FP relay off of car that ran OK, Fuel distributor again is of of an 85 190 E that ran Ok also, swapped little switch on distributor to no avail, idles smooth and compression 130 to 135 evenly. checked for vacuum leaks already
. HELP, Please

WHAT AM I MISSING???

Just glanced at this thread again. If you're still struggling it occurs to me that a bad coil might produce this symptom. Just a thought.

We had a similar problem with our '84 190e. Replaced the oxygen sensor. Running fine since. Good luck.
