OBD Code Reader

Which code reader will my 1992 300SE use the OBD I or OBD II? Which model would you suggest? Just looking for a DIY model not a professional one.

OBD I. OBD II started in MY 1996.

Thanks guys!!!

Aurher - I will go ahead and try to build my own however, I've seen two renderings of the drawing. One has a 0.5 amp fuse and fuse holder on the yellow lead and one does not. How important is the fuse and what is it protecting?

Some put it there for polarityprotection, but it is not needed b/c the diode is foward biased ..so it can not be hooked up wrong and if the diode opens , there is no circuit.
If you want it , put it in the pos side of the circuit.
