95 C280 surging

G'day all...new member..just trying to trouble shoot brothers car problems before the mechanics soak him $$$...his engine is surging both in park and while driving along with a strong fuel smell..got him to order 02 sensors..that was 2 years ago and still not installed...that should remedy the fuel smell and mileage issues...no fuel leaks..checked that...the surging while driving though..?? he had the codes read..EGR and Air flow sensor came up...I sprayed the MAF yesterday, but didn't take it out of the tube..will hit it again today when I remove it..will the MAF cleaning fix the surging issue..??:confused:I disconnected the battery to reset codes..drove fine for 1/2 hour at 50 mph then the engine light came back along with the surging problem...any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.!!!
